[Flash 9 is required to listen to audio.]

This is the iron horse fuzz.  It is a pretty simple circuit, based on a single transistor and a diode clippings section.  The diode is actually what gives the circuit such a wide tone, because changing it really allows for a level of customization.  I want to build one of these with a rotary switch and 6 options.  For now, it is a pair of diodes in asymetrical clipping and an LED.  Both give really similar tones, but also distinct enough.  I can build this with just one clipping option as well.  I have put mine on a toggle, but it could easily be done with an extra footswitch.  There is a single knob that controls volume up to about halfway, and then it turns more into an intensity control.  Your guitars volume reacts well this this circuit.

The demo is noisy, because I am in the process of rewiring my home studio, but I wanted to get these mp3’s up.  My amp was not grounded, so there is a little bit of interferance.  I have played this pedal in about 5 different places and I have never had a problem with noise.  In a couple of weeks I will get a more “formal” demo up, but some of you have been curious.
